Grants for ArtistsGrants for artists are available in many different artistic mediums. Foundations understand that if a person is very talented at his or her art, they will need the time to create that art. Therefore rendering the artists unable to support themselves until they are well established and well known. The various grants for artists help to enable the artist to continue to invest his or her time in creating their art. The following foundations are just a sampling the grants for artists that are available out there. The Aaron Siskind Foundation gives grants of up to five thousand dollars to photographers whose art is in still photography. Academy of American Poets gives several grants for artists of five thousand dollars to poets who have books of poetry. Arts in Healthcare Funds gives grants to artists, whose art assists in patients healthcare and recovery. This Foundation is from Johnson and Johnson. The Association of Mouth and Foot Painting gives a monthly grant for artists who are mouth and foot painters. The Black Rock Arts Foundation gives grants for artists in the amounts from five hundred to ten thousand dollars to artists that use their art to enhance their communities. The Bronx Council on the Arts gives grants for artists in the amount of twenty five hundred dollars each for artist that are not in school, are at least eighteen years old, and live in the Bronx. The California Community Foundation supports different kinds of arts programs in the Los Angeles area. The Creative Work Fund gives grants from ten thousand to thirty-five thousand dollars, for artists who collaborate on projects. The Dunn Foundation gives grants for artist educational programs from k-12 environmental projects.
